Day 6. Munich.
We arrived yesterday morning to a beautiful spring day with SUN! and we have it again today.
On our one sunny day in Amsterdam the sky was streaked with the trails of airplanes. We would have made one of these yesterday!
It feels like we have been away so long already, so much have we seen in Amsterdam, Nijmegen and Arnhem alone. Everyone we have visited has been so generous with their time and information, from the wonderful introduction of Marcel and Cathelijne at Atelier Ted Noten (complete with appeltaart), to Marie-Jose and Nikki at Galerie Marzee and those in between who were no less welcoming.
Its difficult to single one highlight (though I have to say the girls have been pretty entertaining), but acquiring a (very small) brooch by Iris Bodemer (photo to come) makes my heart beat a little faster. Much of Iris' work is larger than this brooch and looks quite robust but the quality of material play is the same: the bringing together of colour and texture in an unusual way is captivating. When I see successive pieces of work from the same collection her particular gesture is very appealing to me. When I grow up I'd like to own a 'big' one.... any on this page would make me very happy.
