ra vs. smit, markets and more designery stuff

Nel Linssen's paper creations @Galerie Ra

Today everyone was more prepared to have adventures after having a good nights sleep. With the sun shining we went firstly went to see Paul Derrez at Galerie Ra. He has just recently moved the gallery and it was a fantastic layout. His take on the contemporary jewellery scene was in a similar vain to what we experienced at Noten's workshop yesterday in the sense that he feels that the traditional idea of a artist jeweller working by themselves is changing. This is in complete contrast to Louise Smit who feels that very strongly in the artist jeweller and that they still have much to offer and therefore the shows in her gallery have a greater number of one artist shows. We also got go to one of the flea markets and have chips with mayonnaise (a bit of a Dutch thing) and waffles. YUM. Near Louise Smit's gallery was a great designer homewares store-Frozen Fountain, where quite a few of us spent money. Now we are off to a great looking restaurant for Turkish inspired food.
